EARLY COVID ICU — APRIL 15, 2020
I was asked to photograph inside the COVID ICU at the height of the pandemic—an assignment I’ll never forget. The weight of that moment was real, but what stayed with me even more was the trust placed in me by someone I deeply respected. She wasn’t just the hospital’s marketing director—she was one of the most original thinkers I’ve ever known. She came into the unit with me and never left my side. The doctors and nurses were doing everything they could, but you could see real fear and exhaustion in their eyes. I don’t know if any of you remember how terrifying that time was—but imagine walking straight into an ICU where every patient had COVID.
